Wild Borneo oil is beautiful! It has the claw and quality that I find in wild tree oils, and at the same time it is very smooth, friendly, uplifting, although not a „gallant” type. You can't deny its character :) I have two observations after the second day of getting to know each other: 1. Bornio is an oil that, at least on my skin, opens quite lightly, cleanly and inconspicuously, although with a clearly peaty accent, and the strength comes with time. It needs a moment to develop and open, and this is not a common feature among oud oils, which like to work in the opposite order :) 2. Having Bornio for most of the day (it did not want to dry out on the skin for 4-5 hours before settled down, creating a noticeable, greasy filter on the surface) I had the impression that I was dealing with 2-3 different oils that had a common denominator. Such a changeable, beautiful beast! It opens like Borneo, earthy, fresh and airy with a beautiful wisp of smoke and incense wood, which is somewhat reminiscent of the effect of good quality oud from Indonesia (I mean this smoke, man!). Also a light peated whiskey, but without alloholic connotations. However, a moment later fresh, green, even fruity elements appear in the background, but in a dry way (far from Thai oils from plantation trees - it is more of an impression of fresh, dry sweetness than fruit pulp 1:1). It's as if I was sitting in the forest by the fire, drying tobacco, feeling a wisp of bakhoor in the background and thinking about papaya salad ;D And this is only the beginning, because then they come on the scene: persistent earthiness and moist, fragrant moss, the impression of moist, clean, fresh forest (beautiful!). Then the most incense-like, green-smoky phase of the oil begins. Of course, the waves of peat from the opening of the fragrance return, but they are very smooth, rather sweet than "boozy", although associations with pure, first-quality Scotch whiskey are appropriate. However, it's definitely mineral Lagavulin rather than Ardbeg ;D At this stage, it's hard not to think about wild, high quality Moroke. However, this element of the damp forest floor... Oh my! Drydown oil, in turn, brings to mind very pure, classically distilled Cambodi oil - with all the woody and resinous advantages of this oil, as well as the still noticeable advantages of Borneo. The last song of the oil on the skin is very smooth, harmonious, buttery, almost gourmand. The oil and its echoes remained on my skin for 12-14 hours. Even after a good night's sleep, despite wiping my hands on the sheets, I could feel the next day where and what oil I had applied to my skin. A beautiful example of how oud oil can be long-lasting and full of character, even though it does not have a loud, overly flashy tone. Excellent and complex oil :)
